House Fly facts
The female fly can lay approximately 500 eggs in her life time. With in a day after laying eggs , maggots hatch from the eggs and they feed on organic material usually dead and decaying , such as garbage, carrion or feces . They carry pathogens on their bodies and in their feces and can contaminate food and contribute to the transfer of food borne illnesses . For these reasons they are considered pests.
